He’s a former BGCT administrator, who has done several different jobs there, among them directing the student ministry division. He started working for the BGCT back in the 60’s. Most recently, I believe he worked in the church-minister relations department.

He is my personal friend. Jan Daehnert had much to do with the development of the Intentional Interim Ministry in Texas, and is certfied as one of their trainers, nationally. He directed the pastoral ministries team prior to his retirement, taking over when Dick Maples retired. I do not know all the reasons he left when he did, but some of them had to do with his displeasure at several things within the structure. He is an outstanding choice as interim. He will seek change, though how much authority he will be given is still unknown. If he is unfettered, he will shine.
